REASON 2
Introduction to employers

STAA will help get your demo and resume in front of employers. Whenever a full-time opportunity on the STAA job forum is within 500 miles of your location, we will do for you what a good agent will do -- we get your demo and resume in front of that employer on your behalf. We do this by emailing to them the link to your Talent Page. Not only does the employer have immediate access to your demo and resume, but it comes with the implied endorsement of STAA and CEO Jon Chelesnik, a former host at ESPN Radio Network. We also send client Talent Page links to employers with unpublicized openings. Unlike having a traditional agent, you don't pay STAA a single cent in commission when you accept a new job.

REASON 3
Opportunity can find you

The STAA website averages more than 2.3 MILLION HITS per month, including employers who surf the site daily. Imagine thousands of employers nationwide having instant access to your own personal demo and resume page. In addition, employers with unadvertised opportunities frequently ask STAA to refer clients. We also regularly take calls from employers requesting contact information for client's who's demos and resumes the employers have found and reviewed in the Talent Search.

Furthermore, STAA works closely with employers to fill openings. We have been the recipient and reviewer of applications for play-by-play positions with the Utah Jazz, University of Virginia, Boise State University, Old Dominion University, the College of Charleston, Charleston Southern, several minor league baseball and hockey play-by-play jobs, and many radio station sportscasting jobs. National play-by-play syndicators Learfield Sports and CBS Sports Collegiate regularly use STAA to help fill full-time and free-lance sports broadcasting positions. We have also consulted with major market sports radio stations in cities from Buffalo to Miami, to Houston, St. Louis, Phoenix and Seattle to help fill sports talk and sports update anchor positions. Our connections benefit you.

REASON 4
Efficiency

Your STAA Talent Page allows you to deliver your demo and resume to employers instantly and easily. No more worrying about whether your email account can handle the number or size of audio and/or video and resume attachments you want to send. As important, the employer doesn't have to deal with the time it takes, or the annoyance, of downloading several attachments. Your entire demo and resume is available with a single click of the mouse.

REASON 5
Career planning and consulting

STAA CEO and former ESPN Radio Network host Jon Chelesnik will serve as your sports broadcasting career consultant. Call or email anytime you have questions or you want suggestions or advice. Perhaps you want help in developing a game plan for getting your next sportscasting job, or an employer has asked you for a salary request and you aren't sure how to reply. Maybe you want ideas for further distinguishing yourself in the sportscasting job market. No topic related to your sports broadcasting career is off limits and you are encouraged to contact his as frequently as you need. We enjoy providing you with this service.

REASON 6
Save money

Save hundreds of dollars on demo and resume production and shipping costs. That's literally hundreds of dollars!. It is considerably more expensive for anyone in the sports broadcasting job market to NOT have an STAA Talent Page. Your monthly investment in the STAA Talent Search and the related services is less than the cost of overnight delivery of one demo and resume package to a single employer. Most people spend more money each month on coffee than your monthly investment in the benefits of the STAA Talent Search. Our services are priced dramatically under market value. The reason is because they otherwise would not be affordable for the individuals we want to help.

REASON 7
Save time

Save valuable time not printing resumes, burning discs, addressing envelopes and making countless trips to the post office. The convenience of your STAA Talent Page is especially valuable when you need to deliver your demo and resume immediately. Within 30 seconds of a request, you can have your materials in front of the decision maker. There is frequently an advantage to being among the first applicants for a job. Phil Haynes, director of AllianceQ recruiting employment company, told the San Diego Union Tribune (Nov. 7, 2009) it is best to apply within the first 24 to 48 hours of a job opening. Since employers are getting so many qualified applicants, they might stop looking at resumes that come in later.

REASON 9
Increase your Internet presence

Your STAA Talent Page moves good, professional information about you near the top of Google and other search engine results. A study found that 83% of employers have conducted an Internet background search of a job applicant. 43% have eliminated an applicant from consideration based on what they found about that person on the Web. Manipulate search engine results in your favor and ensure employers will find positive, professional information about you. STAA Talent Pages frequently show up on the first page of search results, many times at the very top. Your STAA Talent Page provides you a strong presence on this website AND on the entire World Wide Web. In one instance, an NCAA Division I university in the South had a last minute need for a play-by-play broadcaster. They did an Internet search for sportscasters in their state, found an STAA client, and hired him for the full-time position. The STAA Talent Search makes it easy for employers to find you.
